Ezra Coffee Co.

Jessica Taylor, Founder

Ezra Coffee is a specialty coffee brand that connects coffee, culture, and history. Ezra Coffee started as a side passion, when founder Jessica Taylor, began flavoring and mixing coffee beans in an effort, to create coffee options for her sister who suffered from asthma, eczema, soy, and nut allergies and had been recently diagnosed with lactose intolerance and no longer able to consume milk-based additives in her drinks.

Our mission is to provide a unique coffee experience by offering mixed origin and flavored blends so that even those with lactose intolerance can enjoy rich, delicious coffee. We offer six mixed-origin and flavored blends ranging from dark to light roast. Our blend names highlight significant events and individuals within our collective American history. Our values are to educate, inspire, empower, and be of service. Ezra’s integration of African American history allows us to function not only as a phenomenal coffee brand but also as a vehicle to elevate the voices of unsung heroes.

Ezra is Hebrew for “he who helps”. Our business model includes a philanthropic arm in which we provide scholarships to underrepresented students attending four-year institutions. To date, we have awarded scholarships to students at Howard University, Southern University, and Alabama State University.

In just 16 months, we have launched into H-E-B grocery stores, Target.com, and Bridgestreet Market in Michigan. Our future outlook includes continued expansion into additional retailers and markets, new product offerings, a mobile coffee cart, increased staff, and continued support of students through our scholarship program.
